Abstract:

A previously undescribed pteridophyte, Isoetes junciformis, is reported from Tift County, Georgia. This new tetraploid appears to be a rare endemic of the upper Coastal Plain region. It is suspected to be an allopolyploid, possibly arising from the hybrid between I. flaccida and I. melanopoda.
